About the role
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, client focussed Disability Support Worker to join our team at Edmund Rice Pde. Watsonia North.

Nestled in the back streets of Watsonia our staff team provide personalised active support to four residents who live wonderfully independent lives. We pride ourselves on community access, introducing new experiences and maintaining consistency with activities that have become an important part of the residents lives. You must be willing to swimming with our resident too.
The residents are jovial, love a chat and are a tight knit little family as three of the four have been together for over 20 years. We are fortunate to be situated in an area with great accessibility to public transport, local cafes, and a shopping centre that the residents all utilise and have formed great community relationships with many of the shop owners. If you see yourself as someone with a hop in your step and enjoy getting out and about in the community then 2 Edmund Rice might be the place for you.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

Skills & Experience
Roster splits 34:00/26:45 This roster is mix of morning and afternoon shifts including 1 Sleep over shift per month.
In order to be compliant successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years. A Working with Children Check & NDIS workers screening check is also required (where relevant to the role) and a current Victorian Driver's Licence is essential.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this opportunity.
