About the Role 
The Marketing Planning and Operations Manager position, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), plays a crucial role within the Marketing and Communications Leadership team at Swinburne. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth planning and day-to-day operation of the marketing function in alignment with Swinburne's marketing operating model. Key responsibilities include leading marketing planning, performance reporting, budget management, governance, and other identified projects across various areas as directed by the CMO.

Effective communication and collaboration with team members, senior internal stakeholders, and external partners are essential aspects of this role. The Marketing Planning and Operations Manager will drive business value realisation by strategically prioritising Swinburne's marketing activities and supporting their delivery. By leveraging agile methodologies, this role will serve as a key strategic resource for the department, working closely with leaders and marketing teams to oversee the execution of a comprehensive, data-driven, and customer-centric program of work.

Additionally, the Marketing Planning and Operations Manager may offer planning and project expertise to other portfolio executives as needed. This position is ideal for individuals who excel in strategic planning, operational efficiency, financial control and stakeholder management within a dynamic marketing environment.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Extensive high-level planning experience coordinating large teams, prioritising work effort, managing backlogs and defining periodical scopes of work for departments and teams, ideally utilising Agile ways of working
  • Extensive experience in financial management for functions within policy guidelines and budgetary expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, liaise and work with people at all levels, both internal and external to the University with tact, maturity, and appreciation of sensitive issues.
