About the RoleÂ
The position of Senior Lecturer in Digital Advertising at Swinburne University of Technology entails responsibilities such as teaching, research, course management, and curriculum development within the Advertising major in the Department of Media and Communication. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in teaching and learning, with a focus on delivering practical, real-world curriculum to students. In addition to academic duties, the Senior Lecturer will handle administrative tasks related to teaching and contribute to departmental professional activities. The role also involves mentoring and supporting students academically, as well as supervising undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher degree research students. The Department of Media and Communication, part of the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film, and Education (SoSSMFE), is renowned for its cutting-edge undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as research training at the Masters and Doctoral levels. Swinburne has a strong reputation for teaching excellence and innovative research in Media and Communication, recently achieving an ERA 4 ranking for research performance. The department is dedicated to enhancing its teaching and research endeavours in this field.
About You Â
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:Â
- Demonstrated experience in leading development of curriculum in advertising and/or communications disciplines in a university setting
- Demonstrated capability to contribute to the departmentÂ’s teaching of a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate offerings
- Demonstrated experience with experiential or work integrated learning, and supervising undergraduate real-world internships and projects
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member with exemplary communication and teamwork skills
