About the role:

This is a Leadership 2IC role – this is not a Standard Disability Support worker position. 

We are currently seeking a DDS02- Advanced Disability Support Worker to join our group home situated in Bundoora.

The roster splits for this role is:

Roster splits: 83:00/69:00 – This roster is a mix of full day and some afternoon shifts. No Sleep over shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the house from a leadership perspective.
  • Develop planned activities in line with departmental policies and guidelines
  • Liaise with family members, medical services, departmental services and external services to help meet client needs.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review a range of client support plans, with oversight from senior staff, using knowledge of client need, preferences and interests
  • Provide quality direct support to clients in line with their support needs, the program they are accessing, and all support plans including Individual Plans
  • Administer medication treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols or otherwise, seek appropriate medical assistance.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Hold a Certificate 4 in Disability
  • First Aid Certificate
  • An unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Workers screening check.

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate.  You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
