About the role
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.?
Responsibilities
Ability to work independently with complex disability support needs including non-verbal, escalations and behaviours of concerns
Willingness to assist with personal care, community access and transportation, medication administration and documenting and progress note keeping.
Work flexibly on a 24/7 roster. Ability to work overnight shifts including occasional active overnights is essential. Shifts primarily fall between Monday to Friday, weekend availability may be required.
Support people in their day-to-day lives by empowering our clients to find their strengths and build their capacity to live independently.
Offer opportunities for choice, self-expression, and active involvement across all facets of our daily care services.
Skills & Experience
An unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children Checks (where relevant to the role).
