We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of Associate Director, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced Analytics. This pivotal role is responsible for driving innovation and delivering transformative, data-driven solutions across the university. The successful candidate will establish and manage the AI Incubator while leading the Advanced Analytics function within our Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Operate the AI and analytics teams as a small business, engaging with senior university staff to identify and develop high-impact use cases.
  • Innovation and Implementation: Leverage AI and advanced analytics to bring use cases to life, delivering actionable insights that enhance academic and operational excellence.
  • Commercial Focus: Ensure AI and analytics initiatives provide significant returns on investment for the university by developing robust frameworks for evaluating and prioritizing projects.
  • Project Management: Oversee the delivery of data science models and AI solutions, demonstrating the tangible benefits of these technologies and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Team Development: Build and manage highly skilled teams, developing necessary AI and analytics architectures, and ensuring the end-to-end delivery of projects.
  • Change Management: Gather business requirements, manage change effectively, and ensure that AI and analytics solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with the university's strategic goals.

About You?? 
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:? 
  • Extensive experience in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects from conception to deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement AI and analytics initiatives that deliver significant returns on investment for the university.
  • Proven experience in building and managing high performing AI and analytics teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in coordinating and tracking resource planning for AI and analytics projects.
  • Commitment to staying current with the latest trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Qualifications 
  • Postgraduate qualifications Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional certifications in AI, data science, or related areas are highly desirable.
