About the Role 
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of Swinburne.

The Director, Commercial and Financial Planning and Analysis will report directly to the CFO, and will be responsible for providing timely and accurate commercial and financial information to both the Executive Group and the University’s Council. Your insights will be crucial in driving strategic decisions and improving decision-making processes within these governing bodies.

Leading a dedicated team this role directly contributes to the development of both short-term and long-term strategies that will be presented for consideration by the University, ensuring that financial insights are integrated into strategic planning.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

•    Provide commercial advice to senior stakeholders in strategy development, tracking and implementation, ensuring strategic initiatives are articulated, costed and included in the three-year financial plan.
•    Provide financial modeling and analysis oversight for the Commercial function, including Educational Partnerships, Infrastructure and project investment including NPV, ROI, cashflow and profitability analysis
•    Drive a culture of operational excellence in financial planning, reporting and analysis activities at the University
•    Oversee the preparation of the University-wide Budget and quarterly forecasting process, including presentation to the Executive Group, Resources Committee and Council
•    Lead the University-wide month end reporting, annual Budget and quarterly forecast processes and present the results to the Executive Team, Resource Committee and Council, including integration with strategic planning and financial control.

Qualifications
•    Post graduate qualifications, or extensive relevant industry experience
•    Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA)
