About the role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Case Manager to join our new Forced Marriages Specialist Support Program (FMSSP). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex, trauma-informed services, particularly in the areas of domestic and family violence.

As a Case Manager in the Forced Marriages Specialist Support Program, you will provide intensive case management support, working with clients to empower them on their journey to safety and independence. Your empathetic approach and strong advocacy skills will be essential in navigating the complex legal and cultural challenges. Engaging with families, communities and services, you will have a key role in raising awareness of the risks of Forced Marriage.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Parramatta (NSW) with work from home flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments
  • Working with Individuals / families who are victims/survivors of Forced Marriage and Family Violence
  • Offering emotional & practical assistance
  • Facilitating access to essential services
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in community awareness activities to promote understanding and prevention of Forced Marriages

 

Skills & Experience

  • A recognised Degree qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Nursing or Mental Health, or a recognised Diploma in a related field and working towards a degree qualification.
  • Experience developing quality case plans or individual plans
  • Demonstrated experience working autonomously with multiple clients simultaneously
  • Experience working with individuals, families or groups from a culturally appropriate perspective
  • High level communication, influencing, liaison, negotiation and mediation skills
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence

 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
