About the Role 
Are you passionate about inspiring and educating the next generation of industry professionals? Swinburne is seeking dedicated VET Teachers to join our Trades, Engineering, and Technology Electrical Department, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students.

As a VET Teacher at Swinburne, you'll bring industry expertise, best practices, and innovative teaching methods to create an engaging learning environment for 21st-century learners. You will design, deliver, and assess high-quality education and training programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards while meeting the diverse needs of our learners and clients. From certificate-level courses to diplomas and associate degrees, you’ll adapt and customise your teaching to help students achieve their goals.

This role is part of a collaborative team of education professionals where your contributions to planning, evaluation, and program delivery will help foster academic and professional excellence. Teaching responsibilities will focus on units from Swinburne's current Electrical Training Packages, including UEE30811, UEE22011, and Fee-For-Service courses. About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to Electrical teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, and develop high quality teaching and assessment materials
  • Builds constructive relationships with colleagues and generates ideas for improvements which includes demonstrating high level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify own learning needs and obtain support for professional development to be able to perform as a VET practitioner of the 21st century
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring and student experience.
  • Possess sound computer skills to email, MS Office and Learning Management Systems
  • Current practical experience (currency) in Electrical industry 


Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Qualified ‘A’ Grade Electrician with significant experience (Essential)
  • Solar Accreditation or Qualifications and or Experience (Desirable)
  • Data Communications Qualifications and or Experience (Desirable)    
  • Diploma in VET / Adult Education (Desirable)
