About the Role 
Reporting to the Security Systems Coordinator, the Security Systems Officer supports the day-to-day operations of the UniversityÂ’s electronic and physical security systems, ensuring they are operational, secure, and aligned with organisational needs.

In collaboration with the Security Systems Coordinator, the Officer provides advice and recommendations for security-related projects, helping to deliver best-practice physical security for staff, students, and the broader community. The role also contributes to the design and implementation of security systems for new buildings and refurbishments.

Working with a high level of autonomy, the Security Systems Officer may occasionally supervise technical and non-professional staff while ensuring security solutions are effectively managed and maintained.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 
  • Broad knowledge of complex IT networks, technical or security systems
  • Extensive experience with access control, CCTV, alarm systems 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail as to limit ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently under general direction. Ability to always exercise sound judgement

Qualifications
Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant work experience or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical fields or an equivalent combination of experiences and /or education//training
