About the Role
We are seeking a Tax & Treasury Manager to lead Swinburnes taxation framework and treasury operations, reporting to the Financial Controller. This role will provide strategic tax advice, ensure a robust control and compliance environment, and minimize indirect tax costs. Treasury responsibilities include managing operational banking, cash management, investment portfolio administration, and cashflow forecasting. The role will also manage insurance requirements for the University and contribute to Financial Reporting work.
As a key member of the Financial Control team, the Tax & Treasury Manager will lead and develop a small team of professionals, working independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
In 2025, Swinburnes finance team will undergo a transformative Finance ERP implementation, where the Tax & Treasury Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding compliance, tax, and treasury integration.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Proven demonstrable tax experience including technical understanding of GST, FBT and income tax (including the application of international tax)
- Previous experience and/or understanding in treasury and cash flow management
- Previous experience and/or understand of banking and investments
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, occasionally developing and implementing programs combined with the ability to generate practical and effective solutions

Qualifications
Post graduate qualifications, and/or extensive relevant industry experience
Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA).
