About the Role
Innovation and Enterprise is the engine room of innovation at Swinburne, with a successful track record of transforming pioneering research into hands-on applications, through spinout ventures and commercial endeavours. We support researchers and academics to better identify and translate ideas into commercial opportunities and improve their entrepreneurial capability. As Commercialisation Manager, you will be working with academics, researchers, students, industry partners and alumni to identify, research and develop commercial pathways for spin-out companies. This will include developing investment cases for the universities venture fund.
You are an entrepreneurial and strategic thinker with a passion for turning innovative ideas into impactful commercial opportunities. With a proven track record in commercialisation, business development, or venture creation, you are skilled at engaging with researchers, industry partners, and investors to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
Your ability to navigate complex ecosystems and build strong relationships enables you to identify, protect, and develop commercialisation opportunities, from licensing intellectual property to creating spinouts. You thrive in dynamic environments and are motivated by the challenge of delivering tangible results through collaboration, strategy, and innovation.
