Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercialisation Manager to join our Innovation & Enterprise (I&E) team. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving the commercialisation of cutting-edge research and creating impactful ventures.
As the Commercialisation Manager - Innovative Planet, you will be at the forefront of Swinburne's Horizon 2025 Strategy, which places technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the heart of our identity. Reporting to the Head of Commercialisation - Innovative Planet, you will be responsible for the end-to-end creation, development, and delivery of commercialisation opportunities through industry partnerships, researcher engagement, Intellectual Property licensing, and new venture creation.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
· Demonstrated experience in business engagement and relationship development credentials, with experience of the realities of setting-up and growing commercial businesses.
· Demonstrated ability to deliver intellectual property and/or research capability commercialisation initiatives through own actions.
· Demonstrated experience in venture creation and investment transactions.
· Leading by influence: proven ability to be persuasive with a diverse range of stakeholders, including strong verbal and written communication skills and exemplary negotiation skills.
· Experience in managing conflicts of interest and performing commercial due diligence.
Qualifications
· Postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
