About the Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and innovative academic to join the Department of Education at Swinburne University to primarily lead our newly established Master of Educational Leadership degree and contribute to a range of initial teacher education programs, including accreditation activities associated with external agencies and organisations.
As the Senior Lecturer, your teaching will involve a range of blended and hybrid delivery methods and you will contribute to the research profile of the department by participating in and leading a defined field of research, particularly within educational leadership. You will also be actively involved in the supervision of postgraduate research students.
The Department of Education at Swinburne University of Technology is a crucial discipline area within the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education. Underpinning all research, teaching and knowledge exchange activity in the Department is a commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and groups in the communities we serve. This not only shapes the ethos in the Department, but also our engagement with stakeholders including but not limited to students and our professional and research partners.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, including a record of leading and directing a course/unit of study in educational leadership.
- Demonstrated high-level competence in leading innovative teaching and curriculum development in on-campus, flexible, blended, and online modes of delivery.
- Excellent understanding of the trends and issues in educational leadership and professional practice.
- A good track record of high-quality research outputs, including an emerging record of funding.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to capacity building and mentoring of colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor student-teachers on teaching placement and an emerging track record of HDR supervision.
Qualifications
- A Doctoral Qualification relevant to the field of Education.
- A Bachelor or Postgraduate Teaching Degree in Education.
- Teacher registration or demonstrated ability to become registered
- A Postgraduate qualification relevant to the field of Leadership is preferred.
