About the Role

Due to expansion and growth, we have casual opportunities available within our Disability team in Broken Hill. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about their work and committed to improving the lives of people with disability. Working across our Lifestyle program and Supported Independent Living Team, you will assist clients in their homes and with daily activities in the community. You will actively support our clients to live independently through the provision of daily living support (including personal care), domestic duties, mentorship, assistance with medications.

You will need to work a varied pattern of shifts across a 24/7 roster (including short shifts, night shifts, day shifts, weekends and public holidays) to be considered for these roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients to explore and participate in community-based activities particularly sports, such as swimming and walking
  • Increase the client’s choice and independence
  • Establish relationships with clients, their families, and supporters 
  • Support clients to manage their health, including mental health
  • Manual handling, including operation of hoists
  • Complete documentation and reporting requirements

Skills & Experience 

  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
