Research Finance Manager

About the job
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Research Finance Manager to lead our small team of Research Finance Analysts for a 12 month contract. Working within the broader Finance team, in this role, you will partner closely with our Researchers providing them with a range of quality financial management services with respect to research funding, including providing financial administrative support, such as internal and external reporting, project budgeting and forecasting, spend management, milestone management, invoice management. Operating within our standards and policies, you will partner with both Swinburne Research and the Faculties to achieve their strategic business objectives through the provision of tailored, business focused financial management services with respect to grants.

About you
We are looking for someone who has solid experience in managing research/grant finances (ideally in a University setting). With your keen attention to detail and ability to understand grant requirements (including reporting, milestone management, etc.), your previous working history will have seen you building collaborative partnerhsips with your key stakeholders. Ideally, you will have solid team leadership experience or be looking to consolidate your team leadership experience in a step up opportunity. Your previous research finance experience will allow you to share your best practice approach to our team.
