About the job

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing Administrator provides administrative and general support to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team within People & Culture. The position works collaboratively with all Health, Safety and Wellbeing team members and stakeholders to enable a high level of service delivery.

This varied role will involve administrative support across HS&W, Emergency Management and Workers Compensation.

This role is based at our Hawthorn campus and will involve some travel to other campuses as required.

About you

A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and strong work ethic are essential for this role. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualifications:
    • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety 
    • Return to Work Co-ordinator approved course 
  • Experience:
    • Demonstrated experience supporting Health, Safety & Wellbeing services in a dynamic and complex environment
    • Experience in a complex, multi-site environment. Experience gained in a University will be highly regarded
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines without compromising attention to detail and data accuracy and the ability to respond flexibly to re-prioritise according to organizational changes
    • Technical skills and experience at an advanced level in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Visio and experience and skills in web content management and HS&W system administration
    • Demonstrated project management skills and experience
    • Experience of financial administration skills including processing invoices and tracking costs against budget
    • Ability to use own initiative and be proactive in problem solving and deliver excellent customer service
    • Demonstrated skills producing HS&W reports that provide insights for effective decision making
