About the job
Swinburne is seeking an engaging leader to further develop and drive key strategic initiatives and growth through its KIOSC Educational Centre located at Swinburne’s Wantirna Campus. KIOSC is a state-of-the-art facility that provides hands-on learning experiences for secondary school students in STEM and technology areas. This Centre helps to prepare students for the workplace of the future and links them with industry groups, government agencies and the local community.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that KIOSC continues to build and operates as a centre of excellence building relationships with a range of stakeholders including government, schools and industry. As Director you will lead the strategic direction, drive operational excellence and manage financially sustainable educational activities.

The Director will have an appropriate educational qualification and experience in STEM and cutting-edge technology at a senior level in an educational based environment. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset and will bring their confident independent leadership to be able to meet the demands of the role. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with an understanding of curriculum development and paedology will be key to success in this significant role.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A post-graduate degree in education, with a specialization in STEM with a technology focus with proven relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated, confident and independent leadership capability to build, develop and support a team to deliver positive student outcomes.
  • Proven ability in workforce planning, managing budgets and interpreting financial and business information to ensure key indicators, projected forecasts and targets are achieved.
