Swinburne University, striving to create social and economic impact, is looking for a commercially-focused and agile procurement professional to lead our corporate services and travel procurement portfolio. In this exciting role you will have a real chance to deliver value, enhance business practices, and implement social and Indigenous engagements aligned with University strategy. You will have responsibility across the full procurement lifecycle, from category planning to sourcing strategy, execution, contract management, procure to pay, and relationship management.
A key focus will be nurturing strong internal stakeholder relationships by providing valuable commercial advice and identifying innovative solutions to University challenges. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of the travel market, knowledge of the critical cost and service dependencies, and can recognise key drivers for both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the Procurement team delivers the desired result.
The categories under management of this role include: travel and corporate services, including stationery, printing, apparel & merchandise, and other key spend areas. This position requires a creative procurement professional who is commercially focused and confident to challenge the status quo, whilst maintaining a focus on governance and risk. In addition, this position can perform a leading role in the implementation of enhanced procurement policies, processes, and systems across the University.
