About the Job
As our new International Student Activities Officer (ISAO), you will both enhance and support all activities of the International Student Advisory & Support (ISA&S) team. The ISAO is required to work collaboratively with colleagues in other teams across Swinburne, , as well as external stakeholders to provide a stimulating program of extracurricular activities and support opportunities that will excite, mentor and develop our international students, assisting them with adjusting to life in Australia and developing strong connections to Swinburne and their study success.

As well as this, you will be an innovator for the ISA&S team developing and maintaining specific events for international students and disseminating information on all of Swinburne’s amazing student support services and activities. You will also oversee and apply thorough risk management principles for all activities and promote a safety culture by complying with all occupational health and safety instructions, policies and procedures including departmental safety manuals.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A degree or relevant post-secondary qualifications with subsequent experience
• A valid Working with Children’s Check card (or ability to obtain prior to or upon commencement)
• Experience working with international students and delivering student-focused programs/ initiatives
• Ability to apply effective risk management and mitigation principles relative to planned events and activities
