About the job
We have an opportunity for a PhD scholarship for research into the lung effects of the Hazelwood mine fire. The scholarship is provided through a joint research partnership between Swinburne University School of Health Science, and the Alfred Hospital.  The candidate will have the opportunity to work with Respiratory Physicians, Epidemiologists, and Clinical Scientists.

A PhD stipend of $ 27,596 (AUD) per annum (tax free) will be provided to the successful candidate for up to 3 years. Preference will be given to applicants who have achieved First Class Honours (H1) or equivalent. Where an H1 is not available, exceptional candidates with an H2A award may be considered.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A Bachelor degree Honours in medical science/ engineering and/or a research master’s degree or equivalent
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated person who meets the academic requirements for enrolment for the PhD degree at Swinburne University of Technology
• Academically sound candidate with essential team-working, observational and communication skills
