About the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Swinburne IT for two enthusiastic IT professionals to join a high performing Service Desk team as a Service Desk Operator. In this role you will operate a face-to-face and telephone support desk, assisting students and staff with technology issues. General familiarity with a broad range of technology is required, along with sound trouble-shooting skills. The role will support the Service Desk Manager in identifying opportunities to continuously improve IT service delivery, working collaboratively with IT support teams to optimize efficiency of incident resolution and problem management.

The Infrastructure Services and Operations function focuses on the delivery of day to day support and service to staff and students. The team works collaboratively across the IT function, partnering with other teams in the provision of a high quality, responsive and seamless service, and works to continuously improve services.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A degree level qualification in information technology, information systems, or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and present information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills, including the ability to interact, influence, and manage expectations
