We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology as our new Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Computer Science and Software Engineering.

About the Job
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will be a research and teaching academic in the Computer Science and Software Engineering Department, which has a strong culture of research excellence.

The role will require the successful applicant(s) to undertake teaching and research in computer science and software engineering related areas including, but not limited to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science/visualisation, cloud computing and mobile application development. The position will contribute to the leadership, expertise and coordination of the teaching programs of the Faculty and assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties, including developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation.

Within research, the incumbent will make a significant contribution that expands knowledge, contributing to the Faculty’s research excellence and impact in collaboration with external partners as required. The incumbent will also contribute to Faculty management and administration generally. The position is expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters, and will also supervise honours, masters and PhD students.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • An earned doctoral qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant discipline areas
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and undertaking associated administrative duties at University level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high quality teaching material in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • Demonstrated a good record of published research work in high quality journals and/or conferences in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related disciplines
