Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager x 3

• Full-time, on-going opportunity based at RMIT City campus but may be required to work at other campuses of the University
• Open to candidates with in-depth working knowledge in the education regulatory framework impacting universities as this role will be leading the education regulatory compliance outcomes from a central portfolio of RMIT
• Opportunity to use your project management and stakeholder management skills in the maintenance and implementation of high quality compliance frameworks, specifically in relation to new and high impact legislation
• Play a pivotal role in providing high level advice and compliance oversight across the University on emerging compliance obligations impacting RMIT operations
• Report directly to the Assistant Director, Compliance & Quality (IACRR)
• Remuneration at HEW Level 8 ($97,609 - $109,925) + 17% superannuation

About the role and college

The Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk and Regulation (IACRR) function provides strategic and operational guidance and support to RMIT on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of frameworks to manage compliance in operational areas; undertakes activities to monitor and improve compliance performance and culture throughout the RMIT Group and to provide compliance assurance to senior executive staff and the University’s Council.  The management of RMIT Privacy compliance sits with this function. 

The IACRR team provide enterprise-wide expert advice on all education regulatory activity relating to our registration as an Australian University and multi-sector provider, including acting as principal contact to TEQSA, the Australian Higher Education Regulator.

About you

You will have extensive knowledge and practical experience of regulatory and industry standards for compliance management in the higher education sector as well as experience in supporting, implementing and providing strategic compliance initiatives. Coming into this position, you will utilise your highly developed diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills in driving compliance management initiatives with practical and impactful solutions. To be successful in this position, you will use your excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills to effectively communicate all compliance assurance & policy frameworks across broader audiences in complex and often challenging contexts.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification and 3-5 years’ experience in assurance & compliance management preferably in the University/Higher Education sector or equivalent with experience from a regulatory environment will be highly regarded.
