About the function

The Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk and Regulation (IACRR) function provides strategic and operational guidance and support to RMIT on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of risk and compliance frameworks. The function undertakes programs and activities to monitor and improve risk and compliance performance and culture throughout the RMIT Group and to provides assurance to senior executive staff and the University’s Council.

About you and the role

You will have in-depth knowledge and experience in providing advice and managing a large insurance program with a clear risk management focus. In this position, you will use your strong stakeholder management and communications skills (both written & verbal) to effectively inform the strategic direction of the Group’s insurance program; efficiently problem solve complex insurance queries; monitor, assess and report on the performance of the Group’s insurance program; and work with our insurance broker to manage claims, renewal activities and annual placement of all insurance policies. Additionally, you will use your excellent planning, organisational and time management skills and your ability to work independently, to ensure the University’s insurance program delivers optimum cover and balances cost.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry qualification (ANZIIF or equivalent), with at least 3 years’ experience in managing a complex insurance program which includes annual renewal and claims management responsibilities.

Candidates with experience in data analytics or qualification will be highly regarded.
