About the role /College
As one of the largest Business Schools in the Asia Pacific region, the College of Business is comprised of seven schools six in Melbourne and one in Vietnam - delivering a broad range of programs in Business, ranging from Certificates up to PHD levels. Many programs articulate between Vocational Education and Higher Education, creating pathways for further study. RMIT Business programs are delivered in Melbourne, Vietnam, Singapore, Shanghai and Jakarta, as well as through Open Universities Australia (OUA) and RMIT Online. The College has an annual budget of approximately $280 million, employs over 600 staff and delivers programs to approximately 31,000 students (21,000 EFTSL).

The school is currently seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Information Management. This exciting role will contribute to the teaching and research capabilities of the school. You will be responsible for carrying out teaching and research activities within the suite of programs offered by the school. In addition, you will work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. You will also be expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities.
About you
We are seeking a passionate individual who has a demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. You will be highly organised as you will be managing course coordination and be a point of contact for student enquiries. Furthermore, you will possess an emerging track record of quality research outputs that will bolster the schools research efforts. You will be interested in developing mutually beneficial relationships and seek ways to attract funding and develop the schools global reputation.
To be eligible to apply candidates must have performed casual teaching work at an Australian University within the past three years and must not have been employed on a continuing basis at an Australian University.
Qualifications
Mandatory: PhD or equivalent research doctorate in a relevant field
Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
