Experience Designer

First, a bit about ANZ. But not the usual corporate spiel.

Yes, we’re a bank. And yes, we’re more than 180 years old. But we’re changing (fast!), and things are about to feel really different for our customers and our people. It’s not just a lick of paint we’re applying, it’s a shiny new strategy, with a simple ambition: extraordinary outcomes & experiences for home owners and small businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

We’re radically transforming how we work by moving towards scaled Agile. This means we can respond to our customers’ needs faster, be more productive and build an awesome environment for our teams to work in.

What else can you expect at ANZ?
  • Be part of change. Here’s a golden opportunity to apply HCD principles to products and services that have a meaningful, long lasting impact on our customers. Backed by our CEO Shayne Elliott.
  • Design our future. You’ll play a key role in shaping the culture and community of practice of design at ANZ, and what it means to designers and customers alike.
  • Career development and progression paths. We have specific informal & formal programmes, tools & support that can help you learn, grow, be bigger and better
  • Guilds. We’ll give you the time each week to learn new skills, grow as a person and share intel with your team-mates.
  • Digital Customer Experience Centre. A custom made, state of the art space to bring in customers and make sure our designs are actually human centred.
  • Flexible working. This family friendly culture is supported by peers and managers alike.
  • Workplace Equality. In every sense of the word.
  • “Dress for Your Day”. No need for a suit and tie there’s an open and relaxed policy about what you can wear to work.

Enough about us. Now, what about you?

We’re looking for someone with a solid background in experience design for Business processes and systems, with a true passion for improving the digital and non-digital experiences of our customers and bankers.

You will consider yourself fluent in the planning, selling and execution of research to understand user needs and opportunities across all stages of the design process (ideation to delivery).  This means you are practised in determining the most suitable methods and tools to collect, process and analyse both qualitative and quantitative research data, ensuring alignment to best practice.

You work with users to test and validate design concepts.  You’re the guardian of the experiences you create, ensuring that the design intent is high quality and consistent — right through to delivery.  You’ll also be part of creating design frameworks, methodologies and standards to drive consistent and engaging user experiences.

You are a very strong communicator, passionate about creating amazing User Experiences.  You enjoy helping others develop their skills, understand opportunities, encourage innovation, and foster an energetic, vibrant team culture.

You will have a portfolio showing off your incredible skills - which you can confidently talk to in terms of business and user objectives and delivered value.

Design skills and experience
  • A solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, rapid prototyping, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Experienced in delivering UX solutions for enterprise business systems and projects of large scope and complexity.
  • Prepare mock-ups, prototypes, wireframes and interaction designs using tools such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe XD and Axure.
  • Developing lists of prioritised concepts, wireframes, annotations and UX mapping.
  • Write optimisation recommendations and iterate designs and workflows.
  • Developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts.
  • Communicate user feedback, UX processes, test outcomes and design solutions to teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing to support commercial lending activities and regulatory compliance will be an advantage.
