About you and the role
As an experience Research Fellow, you will be responsible to organise, design, develop, and deliver a high-quality & impactful starch research project in line with the Universitys research strategy. To be successful in this position, you will have excellent organisational and time-management skills to meet the demand of competing deadlines and priorities with the ability to produce effective and high impact research output either as a lead or co-author as well as the ability to secure funding opportunities. In addition, you will have strong communications skills (both written and verbal) and the passion to build strong relationships across multidisciplinary research group in delivering high quality research proposals on food biopolymers i.e. starch.
Qualifications
PhD qualification in Food Sciences, Applied Sciences, Biopolymer Sciences and/or relevant fields; candidate possessing excellent track record and recognition for quality research outputs evidenced by publications in the areas of Food Biopolymers will be highly regarded.
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.

About the College/ School
The College comprises four Schools delivering a broad range of programs in science, engineering, health and technology at apprenticeship, certificate, bachelor, masters and PhD levels. Many programs articulate between vocational and higher education, creating pathways for further study. There is a vibrant research community attracting funding from a range of government and industry sources. The College has an annual income of approximately $450 million and employs over 1,000 staff providing on and offshore programs to approximately 20,000 students.

The School of Science provides over 45 bachelor and postgraduate programs, and undertakes world class research across the disciplines of Biosciences and Food Technology, Chemistry and Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematical Sciences, Geospatial Sciences and Computer Science (Information Technology and Software Engineering).
One of RMIT's top-performing research schools, we deliver research that addresses the 'real life questions' essential to Australia's innovation agenda. Our high-quality teaching programs inspire students to pursue careers in a range of industries including biotechnology, health, materials technology, food, geospatial and surveying, environmental science, banking and commerce, as well as computing and IT roles and research and development across a wide range of areas.
