About the role
As the Advisor, Assessment Adjustments you will be reviewing applications for assessment adjustments from students who encounter unexpected circumstances outside their control. You will assess special consideration applications, administer application documentation and provide accurate and timely advice on students queries. You will be responsible for processing applications in the special consideration database, working with sensitive supporting documents and making referrals to University support services (where necessary) to support students in difficult circumstances. You will work closely with the Senior Coordinator, Assessment Support and collaborate with and provide support and advice to other team members on more complex cases.
About you
The successful applicant will have previous experience in providing high quality administrative and/or customer service support within the tertiary sector and/or within large and complex organisations. You will have strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to interpret complex policies and adapt to process change. You will have the proven ability to build and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders as well as draw on the Universitys network and resources to contribute to the teams overall success and meet competing deadlines. Your ability to maintain confidentiality and display diplomatic approach in resolving complex issues will enable you to be successful in this role. Previous experience with a student management system will be advantageous.
You will have strong written communication skills as well as writing and proof-reading skills to be able to provide accurate advice to students and staff. Your previous experience in working in a busy, high volume work environment will be an asset to this passionate and dynamic team.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in relevant discipline and/or relevant experience is required.
Experience in a university, student services or customer service environment is highly desirable.
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
