About the Portfolio

The Finance and Governance portfolio partners with other areas of the university in achieving the organisations objectives, by strategically orienting its provision of financial, legal, analytics, risk and assurance and secretarial services to the delivery of the core operations of the university.

About you

This exciting new position will support the privacy advisory function and facilitate the transition of Freedom of Information (FOI) from Legal Services to our Internal Audit, Compliance Risk and Regulation group.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Governance & Compliance, you will support the day to day operations in the Privacy Office including FOI coordination. You will be required to:

  • Contribute to the management, development, implementation and maintenance of privacy strategy and an effective privacy management framework to support the University’s privacy compliance commitments;
  • Support the Senior Privacy and Compliance Advisor and Assistant Director, Governance and Compliance in facilitating and delivering the work of the Privacy Office;
  • Contribute to the delivery of privacy communication initiatives, training and awareness programs to foster good practices and to support privacy practice across the RMIT Group;
  • Manage the privacy register and privacy impact assessment workflow
  • Assist with the management and review of freedom of information requests submitted to RMIT;
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure freedom of information requirements are met in a timely manner and with confidentiality and integrity;
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of good practice privacy and freedom of information management.
