About The Role

Role Location: This role may be undertaken in Sydney, Hong Kong, or Singapore

Role Type: Permanent & Full-time
 

As the Markets Lawyer, you will be part of a specialised team that supports OTC derivatives documentation globally. You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and finalising OTC derivatives documentation with various counterparties including funds, FIs and corporates in accordance with credit approvals and relevant bank policies. You will assist with the Australian and Asian hedging documentation for facility-linked deals.

 

Primary Duties: 

  • Responsible for entire negotiation process for OTC derivatives documentation including facility linked ISDA, CSA (both regulatory and non-regulatory CSAs), GMRA, clearing agreements and other related markets documentation. This includes assisting in liaising and obtaining approval from relevant stakeholders including Credit, Central CSA, Markets Operations, collateral management, Tax and Group Treasury
  • Conduct close-out netting reviews
  • Comply with relevant ANZ policies, processes and internal standards
  • Work closely with the Head of Markets Documentation on any internal projects
  • Adhere to internal initiatives and processes including proper maintenance of matters in the legal agreement repository and reporting system (“LARRS”)
  • Maintain the relevant ISDA/CSA/GMRA templates for counterparties and assist in keeping the Markets Legal documentation library up to date
  • Advise on issues such as legal capacity, enforceability of collateral and close-out netting
  • Strategic objectives – participate in internal projects and assist the Markets business to achieve its strategic objectives
  • Team focus – provide support to other team members of the Markets Legal team 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

  • Relevant experience in OTC derivatives documentation
  • Strong facility linked documentation knowledge and experience
  • General understanding of a bank’s credit process and familiarity with credit approvals
  • Understanding of corporate authority documentation requirements and account opening process
  • General understanding of OTC derivatives market products
  • Fluency in Mandarin
