About the Scholarship
An exciting opportunity for applicants with a background in psychology and health, who are focused on achieving outcomes for the health industry. The role is primarily located at the hawthorn campus; however, students will also be required to undertake duties at the premises of the industry partner Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer affecting Australian Men, with one is seven men expected to receive a diagnosis by the age of 75. The PhD project will extend upon the primary aims of the Navigate project, the data collected from the navigate project will be utilized to explore interrelationships between couples’ illness communication, decisional conflict, regret and satisfaction, anxiety and quality of life.

This role will suit someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and enjoys working collaboratively with a team of likeminded individuals. Experience working with oncology populations, and both quantitative and qualitative methodologies is advantageous.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree (with First Class Honours) and/or a research master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the research topic
  • Strong interpersonal and team-work capabilities
  • Strong health science background
  • Advanced written communication skills and clear oral communication and presentation skills.
