About us

Uniting is the services and advocacy arm of the Uniting Church NSW & ACT. Our services are in the areas of aged care and disability, community services, Chaplaincy and Pastoral Practice. We actively engage with social justice issues and advocate for the people we serve.

About the role

In this challenging and rewarding position, the Pastoral Practitioner, in liaison with the Chaplaincy Convenor, is responsible for the provision of professional pastoral care and support that is culturally relevant, age-appropriate and sensitive to the needs of our residents.

About you

The successful candidate will have:
  • Relevant Theological study
  • Previous experience in Pastoral Care preferably with ageing people
  • 400-hour Basic Unit in Clinical Pastoral Education (or be willing to complete this within the first six months of employment)
  • A CPE-equivalent qualification will be considered

You will ‘walk the talk’ of professional boundaries, be comfortable with emails and documentation, and be self-aware in all relationships with residents and their families, staff, pastoral care volunteers, and pastoral care colleagues.
