About the opportunity
This role is responsible for administering and coordinating the 120 Countdown Learner Driver Project. The 120 Countdown is a program for learner drivers who face significant barriers to gaining the mandatory 120 hours of driving practice before applying for their drivers licence. Fully licenced driving volunteer mentors from the community provide driving practice with learner drivers. This project is intended to make learner drivers more competent and safer on the roads and reduce their over-representation in motor vehicle accidents. Mentoring contributes to the accumulation of 120 hours of driving experience for the learner driver and empowers the young person with practical driving and social skills and help them to believe their potential in both their own life and community.
You will be responsible for recruiting, training and providing day-to-day coordination, leadership and support of volunteer mentors. You will provide telephone and face to face advice and information for service users, take referrals and assess service users based on needs and criteria, matching them with relevant volunteer mentors.
This is a full time contract until June 2021 where you will be working 35 hours a week based in the Wyong office.
