  • Provide support to Senior Relationship Manager and State Director of Corporate Banking QLD in achieving financial performance goals across existing and new to bank clients; Take ownership of the deal execution process from credit approval through to documentation and settlement.
  • Lead workshops and provide support and recommendations alongside Relationship Teams, Product Partner and Credit Executive on transactions as required.
  • Maintain a ‘well managed’ portfolio agenda including identifying, monitoring and taking appropriate actions in respect of deteriorating and high risk credits in line with the Bank’s risk profile and appetite
 
About The Role

Role Location: Brisbane, Queensland.

As a Relationship Credit Manager, you are primarily responsible for identifying and effectively managing risks inherent in the client's business model and industry, capital and management structure, and emerging performance results. The primary activities of the role covers: Client performance, risk evaluation and mitigation strategies; Preparing quality credit papers; Conducting financial investigation and industry research; Risk grade event management; Liaising with a client and Credit on risk and financial performance related matters, including covenant compliance and risk grade review events; Liaising with credit executives on an on-going basis; Supporting in deal structuring and execution; Dealing with documentation; and Well Managed portfolio controls.

 

Your role is to work directly with the Client, Credit Executive and Relationship Management to complete the broader credit assessment function and ensure an optimal ‘well managed’ portfolio. The position also liaises with the client in regards to day-to-day requirements.

 

This Portfolio includes large corporate customers with operations across a diversified range of industry sectors. Your role is a relationship focused role, which specialises in providing the industry and credit risk assessment for existing and prospective clients. This involves managing credit analyst staff and ensuring the quality and timeliness of credit submissions, are disciplined with respect to credit management.

 
About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Economics. Experience in structuring both bi-lateral and syndicated large corporate transactions effectively and negotiating financing alternatives.
  • Relationship Management experience with corporate market experience.
  • Positive approach towards coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Sound client handling, interpersonal and negotiating skills. Network of connections both within the Bank and external to the Bank, and continuing to develop these networks.
  • Demonstrated ability in succeeding through collaboration. Ability to identify key business drivers and mitigate key risks and provide recommendations based on these across corporate entities
  • Sound credit skills with the ability to present a conclusion based risk assessment and business proposition. This includes a firm understanding of cash flow lending principles, financial covenant packages and security structures typically attributed to large corporate deals
