About the opportunity
We’re looking for a vibrant and energetic team player to join the dynamic Uniting Premier’s Youth Initiative team. This would involve the opportunity to work with resilient and talented young people leaving care to explore their education and employment goals and further develop their independent living skills.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences and/or demonstrated relevant work experience with young people, or equivalent and relevant to the field of work.
- At least 3 years’ experience in mentoring young people
- Knowledge of the employment services and education sectors in the region
- Excellent writing and communication skills (mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy)
- Understanding of the issues impacting young people leaving care and their families, particularly in Regional and Aboriginal communities
- Ability to build relationships easily and solve problems
- Be organised and disciplined
- Ability to work flexible hours
This position is offered on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2021 and the successful applicant will work 35 hours per week.
