About The Role

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008

Role Type: Permanent, Full Time

 

As a Records Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in records management strategy which include: identifying retention, retrieval and disposal requirement, governance processes, creation and maintenance of retention, retrieval and disposal schedules, awareness and training strategy, evaluating noncompliance issues, and enforcing policies and standards.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to divisions to ensure compliance and educate them on best practices in relation to managing paper and electronic records - storage, retention and destruction
  • Improve governance, monitoring and reporting of the Records Management strategy in order to ensure compliance with obligations.
  • Evaluate, investigate and respond to retention queries.
  • Responsible for the Record Retention aspect of the Enterprise Records Management strategy; ensure that departmental records retention schedules and compliance processes are legally sufficient.
  • Ensure that the Records Transfer and Destruction process is followed by all division and country operations; develop, implement and monitor audit mechanisms to ensure compliance with the retention, retrieval and disposal standard.
 
About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong understanding of data regulations and experienced in guiding stakeholders on policies, processes, best practices, controls and remediation activities.
  • Experience in a Corporate Data and Information Records Management strategy including alignment to data collection functions, assignment of retention requirements, facilitation of record retrieval and disposal governance.
  • Good understanding of regulations for financial sector, legal, or other regulated industries
  • Working knowledge in risk, legal, regulatory, technical, and business concerns around records management.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organized, self -starting team player able to take accountability for your work, capable of applying sound judgment and operate responsibly
