Fantastic opportunity to join the Swinburne Research Office providing support for the development and submission of major research funding proposals

About the Job
As our new Senior Coordinator, Major Initiatives & Research Development you will have primary responsibility for providing support for the development and submission of major research funding proposals across a variety of funding programs.

This role sits within the Research Development team and is integral to this program of work. A focus of the Research Development team is the development and submission of major proposals for research funding in excess of $500,000 project value.

It goes without saying you will have initiative to deal with complex issues and the ability to maintain a close working relationship with colleagues, supervisors and researchers.

Swinburne University of Technology has an ambitious goal of growth in research performance and impact, as set out in its 2020 Research and Innovation Strategy. As part of this agenda, the university has plans to double its research income by 2020.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• Completion of a relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification (PhD or Masters) with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks, develop collaborations and partnerships with a wide range of external partners.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills with proven ability to ensure effective completion of tasks within deadlines.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
