Risk Specialist

Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

As the T&C (Talent and Culture) Risk Specialist, you will provide subject matter expertise and advisory to Talent & Culture and business partners. Through your Operational Risk & Assurance expertise, you will help Tribes in the assessment of risks, the design of Risk controls, and will ensure effective Risk Management reporting.

Your key accountabilities will include:  

• Delivering efficient, optimal, and innovative risk management to protect the bank, our employees, our customers, and our shareholders
• Guide Tribes, Squads and teams on the design and execution of operational risk assessments and controls, connecting them to expert risk capability where required
• Ensure each Tribe has appropriate business continuity plans in place, supporting them with appropriate frameworks and specialist expertise
• Assisting the business to adhere with group wide operational risk, compliance and information security policies and frameworks, and providing guidance with changes in processes, people and systems
• Continuously raising risk awareness and building a robust understanding of regulatory and business operating risk environments
• Monitoring emerging risks and legislative changes and lead discussions with the function around these themes
• Production of real-time reporting dashboards to effectively inform risk decision-making
• Supporting business programs, strategic projects, and BAU activities with the identification, assessment, management and reporting of business impacting risk 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following – 

• Broad experience across Risk Assessments and Risk Reporting (experience from the Banking & Finance industries an advantage)
• Experience in Risk Control Analysis, Risk Controls Design & Execution, Controls testing, and Assurance management
• Strong risk awareness coupled with business & commercial acumen
• Knowledge of operational risk frameworks and industry standards (e.g. AS/NZ 31000, ISO27001 & COBIT)
• Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory and business operating risk environment
• Strong consulting & stakeholder relationship management skills
• Great presentation, reporting, and communication skills
