This role sits within the Assurance Centre of Expertise (CoE) whose mandate is to provide best in class first line assurance support to the business, developing best practices for operational risk management, uplifting our control environment and supporting the remediation of events and issues across the bank.

 

As the Assurance Manager, you will be accountable for key risk deliverables including:

• Assurance activity associated with Retail Distribution’s risk profile including facilitating risk assessments, obligation management, control governance and reporting to risk forums
  
• Maintaining strong relationships with the business, second line risk and audit partners
  
• Advice and guidance in relation to operational risk projects by assisting the business to complete operational risk impact assessments and navigating governance requirements associated with the delivery risk framework
  
• Review and assurance of risk treatments, events and issues associated to Retail Distribution
  
• Driving improvement in risk capability/culture/awareness and promote operational risk management as a core capability across all BU’s/Tribes
  

What you bring to the Assurance CoE as an Assurance Management Expert?

• Proven experience in Operational Risk management or compliance (ideally line 1 or 2)   
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills to drive outcomes and meet business needs
  
• Deep technical knowledge of risk and compliance regulation and frameworks
  
• Utilise analytical insights and data to identify opportunities to better balance risk with customer propositions
  
• Desire to create a thorough understanding of how our customers and bankers relate and react to embedding risk management in everyday activities
  
• Ability to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate
