This role sits within the Assurance Centre of Expertise (CoE) whose mandate is to provide best in class first line assurance support to the business, developing best practices for operational risk management, uplifting our control environment and supporting the remediation of events and issues across the bank.
As the Assurance Management Expert, you will be accountable for key risk deliverables including:
- Assurance activity associated with Digital Portfolios risk profile including facilitating Operational Risk Assessments, Obligations Management, Control governance, Risk Insights and Tech Risk Management
- Maintaining strong relationships with the Business, Second line risk, Technology Risk, Security Partners and Audit Partners
- Assist and guide the business to complete Operational Risk Assessments and navigating governance requirements associated with the Delivery Risk Framework
- Active management and oversight of emerging Risk issues, existing Treatments, Events and other ad hoc risk management requirements
- Driving improvement in Risk capability/culture/awareness and promote Operational Risk Management as a core capability across Digital Tribes
What you bring to the Assurance CoE as an Assurance Management Expert?
- Strong collaboration with the business and partners to develop effective operational risk management solutions and drive outcomes to meet business needs
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills to build relationships
- Utilise analytical insights and data to identify opportunities to better balance risk with customer propositions
- Proven experience in Operational Risk management or compliance (ideally line 1 or 2)
- Deep technical knowledge of risk and compliance regulation and frameworks
- Desire to create a thorough understanding of how our customers and bankers relate and react to embedding risk management in everyday activities
- Ability to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate
- Experience in one or more of the following domains - digital and technology solutions including innovative data solutions/security, customer channels and distribution (retail and commercial), lending products, transactional products, savings and wealth products, business and private banking
- People leader skills would provide the potential candidate an advantage
You will also have the following specialised skills:
- Experience in risk management OR internal / external audit, coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge.
- Tertiary qualified, with strong technically relevant skills and understanding of technology risk and information security risk OR digital solutions.
