We are looking for an innovative self-starter to join us in the integral role of Government Relations Manager.

About the Job
In this role, you will assist the Director, Government Relations with the development and execution of Swinburne’s government relations strategy, and Pathway and Vocational Education (PAVE) Director Business Services in operational functions and decision-making. The Manager will develop communications and advocacy plans for specific government relations campaigns and builds and manages relationships of trust with Ministers, Members of Parliament, public officials, peak bodies, third party advocates and other policy influencers. The role will focus on collating all the necessary data and information required to be a key line of advice and support in the areas of vocational education and governance.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A degree with substantial relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields
• Relevant experience in government relations, public policy or related roles e.g. ministerial advisor
• Relevant experience engaging with culturally diverse communities and management of cultural events.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and shape the policy environment to support the university’s government relations objectives
