About the Job
As a Finance Business Partner you will offer accurate and timely financial advice to key stakeholders and senior managers across the university to help drive business performance and enhance the quality of financial and commercial decisions within your portfolio.

An influencer and trusted advisor, you will develop financial plans, advise on future direction and investment choices, and be responsible for providing financial reporting, analysis, insights and objective financial advice to drive improvement in operational performance while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and the University’s policies and procedures.

You will coach and upskill your business unit’s financial confidence and competence across layers of management within your portfolio and provide insight, promote good financial and risk management disciplines and act as a catalyst for business’ change in driving continuous improvement.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Proven experience in building productive stakeholder relationships and clearly communicating financial insights to non-financial audience
• An undergraduate degree with a major in accounting or similar discipline, with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
• Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CAANZ) or Certified Practicing Accountant Australia (CPA).
• Significant experience in financial management and related activities, preferably in a large and complex organization
• Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, delivering consistently accurate and clear information
