About the job
We have an excellent opportunity to come join the Research Development team as our new Research Development Officer. In this role you will support the team in the development and submission of major research funding proposals across a variety of funding programs.

Using your initiative, you will deal with complex issues and you will possess the ability to maintain a close working relationship with colleagues, supervisors and researchers.

The Research Development team is integral to Swinburne’s ambitious goal of growth in research performance and impact, as set out in its 2020 Research and Innovation Strategy. A major focus of the team is the development and submission of major proposals for research funding in excess of $500,000 project value.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Completion of a relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification (PhD or Masters) with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Track record of achievement in the development of major research funding proposals or tender submissions, and/ or successful business case development in industry, government or consulting environment.
• Previous experience with the establishment of external research centres including ARC Centres of Excellence, Cooperative Research Centres, NHMRC Centres of Research Excellence or large research consortia or multi-party ventures.
