Senior Lawyer, Corporate Advisory

About The Role

Role Location:  Melbourne

Role Type:  Permanent, Full-time

As a Senior Lawyer, Corporate Advisory you will primarily support the Group’s acquisition, divestment and joint venture projects in Australia and internationally. You will also provide corporate advisory and general commercial advice to key internal clients.

This role will see you providing strategic legal advice to a range of stakeholders and proactively managing legal risk for ANZ through the provision of a high quality, commercially relevant and cost effective legal service. You will be responsible for ensuring that transactions comply with good corporate governance and internal policies and procedures as well as managing relationships with external counsel. Some travel will be required in the future.

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:

• Law degree with significant post admission experience
• Substantial experience in M&A gained from either a top tier law firm or large corporate
• Skills in general corporate law including contract drafting and negotiation, Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules, competition law and general taxation law implications of transactions
• Exemplary communication skills, problem solving and decision making abilities
• Demonstrated execution skills and a track record of establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships through team work and collaboration
• An ability to role model ANZ’s values.
