About the role/college

The role of the Learning Design Officer will support high quality digital learning for course and programs, specifically RMIT’s online learning environments. They will work closely with key stakeholders in the Colleges, Schools and RMIT Studios to support the transformation and enhancement of courses and programs, including the embedding of micro-credentials. The incumbent is expected to respond to School, College and University strategic priorities and support the implementation of digital learning that is consistent with university principles.? 

Key accountabilities as a Learning Design Officer: 

  • Using?student-centred principles?and practices to create?engaging,?relevant and informative?learning journeys. UX?approach.? ? 
  • Curriculum, assessment and pedagogy consultation and evaluation? 
  • Work with College Academic Development Group, Schools and RMIT Studios to support the Learning Management System and associated learning technology priorities. 
  • Curate and develop digital resources using relevant learning technologies that will support the effective delivery of digital learning within the college.   
  • Work with the College learning and teaching team, Schools and RMIT Studios to support initiatives such as the embedding of RMIT microcredentials into courses and programs 

 

About you
  • Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices (experience in Canvas desirable)  
  • Demonstrated project coordination skill and experience.  
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and proven ability to secure the cooperation and engagement of a wide range of people within a complex environment.   
  • Well-developed organisational, planning and analytical skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to encourage and facilitate systems and work practices that are collaborative, support a team environment and adhere to procedures, standards and guidelines 

 

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a teaching or training or related discipline; or Demonstrable Experience. 

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
