About the roles:
The Research Assistants will be based in the SMAC Group led by Professors Wilson and Lee, within the Applied Chemistry and Environmental Science discipline in the School of Science and will work in partnership with the Centre for Applied Material and Industrial Chemistry (CAMIC). The positions will carry out independent and team research which have a significant impact in their area of specialisation and be acknowledged at international level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of their relevant discipline.
The Research Assistants role for Professor Wilson is primarily to support activities on a recently funded ARC Discovery project Nanostructured solid acid catalysts for sustainable chemical manufacturing, and will be required to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects in the design, synthesis and application of thin film and nanoparticulate solid acid and base catalysts for biomass valorisation with project partners at University of Sydney, The Spanish National Research Council and University of Milano-Bicocca.
The Research Assistants role for Professor Lee is primarily to support activities on a recently funded ARC Discovery project Spatially orthogonal multifunctional materials for catalytic cascades, and will be required to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects in the design, synthesis and application of novel hierarchically porous, spatially orthogonal inorganic materials for catalytic applications with project partners at Universities of Sydney, Manchester and Cambridge.
