Innovation Partnerships Manager

• Be responsible for identifying and developing industry engagement opportunities between external agencies (public and private) and RMIT Europe.
• High level proficiency in English and some ability in Spanish (beneficial)
• Full time, ongoing position (40,000 euros negotiable based on experience)

About the role

As the Innovation Partnerships Manager at RMIT Europe, you will be responsible for identifying and developing industry engagement opportunities between external agencies (public and private) and RMIT Europe. This role will see you build strong relationships with external organisations to deliver high value and high impact partnerships for the university, and work with colleagues across RMIT to deliver partnerships through collaborative research, talent acquisition and development programmes, research collaboration, education partnerships, global student experiences, internships and executive education.

In addition, the Innovation Partnerships Manager will:

• Follow through identified opportunities, nurture relationships and close agreements and contracts
• Utilise their existing networks across Europe to cultivate partnerships for research and global experience
• Develop new and existing relationships across the relevant research priorities of RMIT in Europe 
• Account manage the relationships with clients as well as RMIT academics
• Promote outcomes of RMIT’s research        

About you

To be successful in this position, you’ll have experience of but not limited to:

• Demonstrated interest and relevant background on one or several of the following topic areas: smart and sustainable urban development, digital transformation and industry 4.0, natural resources and the environment (energy, waste, water);
• Business development and account management experience and a track record of building a pipeline of opportunities for organisations in the academic, research or private sector;
• Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational relationship and partnership management;
• Experience in public funding, fund raising and project creation, as well experience in setting up and running collaboration agreement;
• Proven ability to exercise initiative, think creatively, work independently and as a part of a team to meet deadlines in a complex and demanding environment, and to manage risk;
• Planning and organising, with the ability to multitask and managing conflicting priorities, as well as communicating with a wide range of stakeholders (academic staff, industry and academic partners), both written and oral.

Qualifications and requirements

Required:

• Business development experience and a track record of building a pipeline of opportunities for organisations in the research, education or private sector
• Postgraduate qualification
• Knowledge and understanding of education systems, markets and environments that are relevant to RMIT’s global education delivery activities
• Understanding of research and development management
• Understanding of industry based learning and development

Preferable:

• Experience with CRM systems
• Knowledge of Australian higher education
• Demonstrated track record in working with senior academic and teaching leaders and early career researchers
• High level proficiency in English and another European language 
• Working rights in European Union
