About Your Role

From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence.  This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager (Training) to join our team to deliver training solutions to our Customer. This Project Manager will lead the CMATS training team and will provide project management,  product management and development, delivery of the CMATS training solution.  This Project Manager will lead the team who will also provide training advice to support this  large complex project.  Responsibilities will include:

As the Project Manager for Training, you will develop schedules, interpret Contractual requirements, manage customer expectations, develop estimates and budgets, develop and report on KPIs and provide assistance with negotiations and proposal development.

Responsibilities will also include:

• Managing the conduct of training and assessment system analysis, design, development, delivery and continuous improvement of the Thales CMATS training and assessment deliverables
• Oversight of the development and delivery of training management packages, which includes computer-based training
• Ensuring that training deliverables remain consistent with product development
• Ensure training costs do not exceed budget
• Ensuring the continuous improvement of CMATS training and training products
• Lead, coach and develop a large training team who are experienced and very passionate about what they do

How About You?

• You have a strong career in project management which is supported by relevant qualifications  and demonstrated experience. 
• It would highly desirable to have a background in either Defence delivery or the delivery of training services/solutions to Federal organisations (e.g. Department of Defence, Airservices Australia, etc.)
• Any exposure to working with ASDEFCON will be highly regarded.
• Your project management experience is second to none!
• You are experienced and comfortable working in a complex environment with tight and regularly moving project schedules
• You are customer focused, you have a strong focus on cost optimisation and you have led large teams previously and love coaching and developing your team to drive high engagement and high performance. You are resourceful, decisive and have excellent communication skills with the innate ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical staff.
