About You

Reporting to the STEM Digital Innovation Centre Director, you will be responsible for overseeing software programs and applications for STEM education, including scanning for new programs and identifying areas for modification in existing programs in consultation with stakeholders such as student end users and STEM educational staff. You will also develop quality assurance procedures and metrics to measure quality and consistency of software across STEM programs and courses. The role will also be responsible for training end users in STEM educational software.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have, but not limited to:

  • High level of programming proficiency and understanding of modern software design and development methodologies, including software architecture and design, software peer review tools and software testing tools and understanding of testing methods.
  • Experience with open-source software development and use, particularly cloud, virtualisation and visualisation systems.
  • Well-developed project planning and management skills with ability to work to a fixed time frame and effectively deliver outcomes that meet stakeholder requirements under critical time and budget constraints.
  • Experience in contributing to high-technology deliverables in small and agile project teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for interacting with students, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Proven experience in training a variety of diverse stakeholders in an educational context as well as developing appropriate and relevant training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing compliance with technical and OH&S standards and developing quality assurance procedures.

Relevant digital solutions – such as Workday – are used by the five teams to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies. The Group’s end-to-end professional support ensures a consistent approach to the operational and strategic functioning of the College and adherence to University policies and procedures. The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the STEM College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross-skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths.
